For me I had to do the drytop/bib combo as the drysuits did not allow me full extension. I could not reach out as far with the paddle. I know Martin is taller than I so I am curious as to whether he lives with the limited reach or has found a manufacturer for tall not big people.

Your in DC already?
I finished that loaf of delicious bread you passed on to me. Thanks.

So from Vermont to Gapland MD. is about 450 miles and I saw you at the end of July. So roughly 450/35. Is that accurate?

These symptoms occurred to me when I was a couple years younger than you. Kneeling was painful in church and anywhere else. I would see a doctor to confirm, but I would suspect that you are having this problem due to growth and a related deficiency in the blood supply to your knees. If it is what I ...

I paddle medium to low volume C1's and the strap system I like are snow board rachet straps. They do not slip or loosen though you do need to tighten as your legs relax into positoin. They are 2.5 inches wide and are real comfortable. The draw backs are a more dificult release especially upside down...

I tried a Fink briefly two weeks ago and found the forward position with knees high on the chines severly uncomfortable. Maybe that would be different if the saddle was higher than the six inches it was. For me I would want to be back in that boat. I'm lighter than the boats owner I'm 170 #'s. What ...

I'm making plans to be at the Savage August 5th, so I will be crossing through NY around then. Between then and now I will be traveling within 2 to 3 hours of the Adirondaks and could be enticed to paddle the Hudson if Adam has the time. Do you think my size 12's will fit under the rim? Ha Ha

There is no such thing as a good swim on a WW river. I've had a lot of swims and getting banged up is the price you pay when you do. The most important thing is to get yourself on the surface as fast as possible. The Water behind most features, ledges and holes is moving fastest down stream below th...

Down time

I was on the Cheat Narrows Monday and came upon the squirt spot and found two kayakers getting some impressive down time. It was interesting to see how quickly they dropped (out of site) after entering the seam line. The technique appeared to be to engage the pour over line on and parallel to the ed...

Did anyone watch the C1 flatwater racing vids? That was pretty interesting also.
When I was learning to roll years ago I made an off side roll, but since I am too disoriented when I try deliberately.

I'm a maybe at this point. I have a project due the 27th. The Castleman is a nice paddle if the Yough is too high. It has been ten years since I paddled it from Markleton. And on that trip we lost / wrapped the first canoe I ever paddled serious WW around a rock. I was'nt in the boat at the time, as...
