Apple Line
... Apple Line boat that I purchased used in the early 80s, raced at the 1984 Open Boat Nationals, and still use on occasion. The hull is based on a Gemini C-2 with built up sides. I believe that this was Stan's tendency with open boat designs, to take a successful decked canoe hull and build up ...

... were de-riguer for any self-respecting racer, at least on the Potomac, where bottom-pitons & sky were readily available. BTW, Steve Chamberlin (Gemini designer) should get more credit for the environment that fueled the US C-boat successes. Before the Gemini, designs (usually Euro) were licensed ...

in regards to saddle
... that would like to roll the boat don't like the triple saddle as it act like a big baffle and is fairly heavy. Again, you may just consider the gemini seating of 2 Mike Yee-like saddles---as paddling solo from the stern seat in our caption is surprisingly good (again, need to weight the bow ...

perception?
Is it the perception saddle your talking about? And are you sure you really want this?
Near Gemini tandem can give you a pretty good solo position in 13 or 14' boat. I think the caption, for example handles pretty well for a "big" 14' boat--if some weight is added in bow.

... tape, so I could just open it up for repair jobs. Never had to make a plug for a repair, but I've swapped cockpits around. Fortunately it was a Gemini, with a really flat deck, so you could fill the holes by laying up a flat piece on wax paper, cutting out a shape to fit, and glassing it into ...
