Re: C1 knee strap placement
That was "j not Elvis" Robbins and his etc "plate" outfitting. Cool idea, but a hard to sell to us cheap paddlers. I dug, and I was actually thinking of Larry Horne's outfitting: https://cboats.net/cforum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=7963131" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I guess he didn't u...

Re: C1 knee strap placement
TKW-
Chopping up an old hull sounds a lot like that custom C1 outfitting that someone made and sold on here a few years back. I always thought that guy's outfitting looked really cool, but I couldn't pay what he was asking. I may give this idea a shot the next time I outfit a C1.

Re: Blink impressions
The only PBJ rapid I know of is on the upper Nantahala, but it doesn't look like it was running any time recently, so I doubt it's that one.pblanc wrote:Wendy, I have paddled the Nanty quite a few times over quite a few years, but PB&J wave is a new one for me. What wave goes by that moniker?

Re: C1 knee strap placement
I don't C1 much, but mine is set up with knee straps (snowboard bindings) and the outside anchor is at or just below the water line. Honestly, I wish they were just a little lower. I would stick to neoprene washers, and just deal with the minute amount of water that gets past them in a day's trip. I...

Re: indoor pool for roll practice in chattnooga area
Shouldn't be. I haven't been to this one, but nearly every indoor roll practice I've been to, I've been the only OC1. This usually isn't an issue unless you're looking for instruction.

Re: L'edge L'offside recovery
Z - I tend to agree with Ian, at least from my own experience. Granted, my L'Edge is modified, with the gunwales pulled in anywhere from 1/2" to 1". I can easily paddle the boat with either gunwale under water, controlling stability with lean and some bracing/stroking. I did notice that after pullin...

Re: Unique opportunity for fiberglass constructor
Elvin, I truly hope you find someone who is excited to do this. If I knew how, you'd have your man. Don't knock visiting a "majority world" country, folks. I'm gearing up for a month-long trip to Nepal...my 3rd one. Seeing how the majority of the rest of the world lives is eye opening, and it is tru...

Re: Unique opportunity for fiberglass constructor
Sounds like a great opportunity. If I knew how to build fiberglass canoes, I'd be all over this. Someone who knows what they are doing should really jump on this...what an incredible opportunity!

Re: Salamander Throwbag?
I carry the Safety 50 (polypro) with me. A good bag to throw to swimmers, not a good rope for use with pinned boats. I recommend getting a Spectra rope if you're going to be doing boat rescues, and get at least 3/8" rope. If you're just going to be hauling people out of the river, a 5/16 polypro wil...

Re: Level 6 Emperor drysuit
I don't know about that particular model, but I have not been pleased with what I have seen of some of my friends' Level Six drysuits. If you're going to be spending that kind of money, I would say go for a Kokatat, if you can get it in the Netherlands.
