Re: Any interest in a Nitro?
If you sent me a PM you should have received a response. Seems like a number of folks are thinking about using the Nitro as a tandem project.

Any interest in a Nitro?
I just lost my storage spot for my two Nitros (Ahh, the difficult parts of life - why do friends have to move? Especially when they have spacious garages?). I'm looking around for a new storage spot, but since the boats don't get much use any more (have an Ion and an Option as well) I thought I'd po...

Re: Oc-1 or -2 for small-ish teenagers?
Im a fairly small paddler at 5'8'' 140# I run a Prelude now in year 2 of paddling, I started in a Nitro which was too big for me but very stable, Paddled a Mad river outrage a few times and found that to be a very soft user friendly boat, or a detonator wich seemed to me ...

Re: Question about canoe length vs maxium weight limit
While hard chined boats get more sluggish and harder to paddle the deeper they ride in the water, a Nitro usually works well as a big boy boat.

Re: Probe 13 into an OC2 possible?
Thanks for posting the nitro outfitting pics. I am fascinated that you like it tandem. I paddled one recently and barely liked it solo. I'd like a more full report about that boat. As for the Ocoee, I have been meaning to provide pics, ...

Re: Probe 13 into an OC2 possible?
Mike,
Here are some pictures of the tandem Nitro conversion I made for my son and I.
I used scrap foam for the outfitting, so it is not the prettiest install, but it works well.
The front saddle is removable for solo tripping.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Geoff

Re: Probe 13 into an OC2 possible?
I just converted my Nitro into an OC2, for my son and I. Took it on a test run yesterday and the boat handles admirably. Could even use more weight in the bow then my son's 65 lbs. I'll post pix if you're interested. I've also left ...

Esquif POCKET Canyon want to Trade for Esquif Canyon OR ????
... trade + cash offers. Not interested in any kayak conversion C-1 as I have several kayaks in my quiver I would however be interested in a L'edge, Nitro, Raven, Probe12 or xl13 in the solo catagory or a Mohawk XL15 outfitted with thwarts and webbed seats. I am located in Charlotte, NC however I ...

Re: 6'6" 250lbs for a taureau?
... compared to what? Ok, so I've paddled the Taureau only once. I've done a bit a kayaking and do all of my canoeing in fairly big boats like the Nitro and the Raven. Now, compared to these boats, I've found the Taureau a breeze to roll. I was even able to do some high brace and off-side rolls ...

Re: Spark... love or not love....
back to basics really when I switched from a esquif nitro to my prelude I took a step back too, had to focus on driving the boat and had to re-work my roll as well (still not 100%) but once you start making the moves around the waves and holes that ...

Blackfly Ion as first boat??
... waves and just plain FUN! I had way more fun and gained more confidence in pushing my skills in the Ion than in the bigger Esquifs (Paradigm, Nitro, Blast) that I'd paddled previously. This, I did not expect. At all. The only downside was that it's super slow. So, now I find myself really, ...

Re: Kayaker dislocated shoulder moving to oc1
... I'm talking about (cough) newer kayaks like a Remix, Z.One, Fun Runner, Zen, Axiom, Mamba, etc. In the same vein but with canoes... Detonator, Nitro, Octane, Outrage, Probe, etc. are fairly stable, forgiving boats that will move forward easily. I feel it's pretty important for people to learn ...

Re: Any Option or Octane owners in the Bryson-Sylva area?
My boat is cracked at the moment, so I have no means of getting downriver. Lately, I have been using NOC's demo Nitro when I've been going down the river. I'm think I'll be able to handle the nanty even if I'm a bit uncomfortable being in the boat for the first time. Can you get ...
