OCA

Spence the OCA is 16'. It will handle class 2 ww even loaded. It was the do it all boat for years, has a long flat bottom so is susceptable to winds.
There is a lot of people with tripping experience who will be able to tell you more.

I saw 3 corrections he made from top to bottom including the one just above landing when he got it vertical. The top 2 could be interesting. Course if you have the line....

Like Ez said I think the kneeling position itself helps maintain good posture. Sitting in a kayak, in my opinion, does not. Another good reason to paddle a canoe.

Summer 1959, I was 11. Caldwell W.Va at Camp Shamedelica on the Greenbrier River. I had a friend whose family owned the camp. We paddled wood and canvas or aluminum canoes sitting on the back deck, also had gunnel jump races. What fun. First ww was Caldwell to Roncevert, class 2 at most. I remember ...

Very nicely done. I bet it took your breath when your friend in the K1 went under the ledge. The paddle out looked pretty impressive too.
It looks like the Detonator is about broke in....

So, If you bought the Ledge the big dent becomes less of an issue????
An interior patch will give you back the structural integrity then seal the cracks with something like aqua seal.
I would think the borrower would feel some responcibility for fixing. None of which matters in the short term.

Color

I try for bright colors, for visibility etc. Since when I'm in the boat I can't see to much of the outside hull it doesn't make a lot of difference. Get air bags in your favorite color and relax.
Pink Encores were cool!

I agree with above. Push out dent asap after it occurs, T grip, rock etc works. It won't be as strong as original between the memory and more important the thin spot at the crease. An internal patch works well.
There's water in the SE too. Maybe to much in the short term.
Have fun,
