Compared to the Scamp any of the mentioned boats will be lighter. The Outrage will feel a little squirrelly at first but will be faster, dryer once you get used to it and much lighter.
Demo before buying if you can.

A well repaired rx boat is worth $300+ iho. An easily repairable one probably in the 200 range. Plastic is still a mystery to me.

Agree w/ Kricket. Applying tape correctly takes skill. Need the right amount of heat to be concentrated on the tape only and the tapeto be near perfect on the seam for it to work.
