Re: L'Edge Superlight Outfitting
I put a 3 inch round tube in that location. It takes time with the saddle in place but doable. I use a knife. Once 3 inches of foam has been carved there is a Dewalt adapter you can buy to attach a hole saw for right angle use.

Re: Blackfly Ion Max Weight
Whatever weight you are to use the Ion as a river runner means you will get some exercise. It is a short boat so not a lot of momentum. I paddled it down Clear Creek, Lilly to Nemo and had a blast. If you don't mind paddling a lot more than longer boats you can take it anywhere.

Re: Blackfly Ion Max Weight
The boat is a blast. I had an original when my weight was higher than your range and loved it. I lost weight, bought a new one and it is also a fun play boat. The aluminum mold version has more momentum than the original but lost some primary stability. If you are looking for a fun, fun boat buy one...

Vynabond works well. I would buy new ones. You can get some of the old glue off, but not all of it.

Re: Comparing new OC-1 solos for 200+lbs
Pat, The Agent 88 has the nimbleness of the Covert 9.3, but not the top sustained speed it can reach. The Agent 88 handles like an Ocoee in the front half and more stability in the stern. Attainements are easy in the Agent 88 and Covert 9.3, 10.5 that you usually don't do in these short boats. Sabri...

Re: Esquif's 'Excite' for size L paddlers
Pat, I owned a Covert 10.5. It is a very stable and comfortable boat, not as edgy as a Rebel or Ocoee. The Condor for the 200 # plus crowd would be the most stable and playful of the plastic boats. I now own an Agent 88 and Octane 91. The Agent 88 is so much fun. It reminds me of some of the charact...

Re: Foam side panels in mini-cell bulkhead boats?
! gallon of water weighs 8 pounds, so adding sidewall foam eliminates space for water accumulation.
