Re: What are some airbags that fit an Octane 91
For the record I believe that a set of Fall Line single layer bags to fit an Octane 91 are $250 which is very competitive with offerings from Harmony and NRS and much better quality.

Bring them to my boat boneyard where old boats become new and, ahh, "different" boats.

Re: Pulling in Option gunnels
As the proud owner of Frankenoption 2.1 I can attest that pulling in the gunwales will reduce the rocker and decrease the stability.

Re: Red Mo Race
The RedMo race did indeed happen this past Saturday. It was a tad cold (daytime high of 25 deg F or so) and nighttime lows in the single digits for those of us that camped for the weekend but everyone had a great time.

I been going to Stoneyfest since I was a lurker and wouldn't miss it. Great call to tie the Armada into this event again this year.

Re: Vertige X owners-I need some help
Just measured mine, the width of the boat at the center thwart, outside to outside, factory vinyl gunwales = 31 inches. As for being bow light, the lighter the bow the dryer they run. I've enjoyed soloing mine where the front 3' are clear of the water and with light people in the bow and I prefer it...

Re: skirt grab loop handle
My rule of thumb is no gloves for insulation above 35 deg F, 20-35 deg F I wear a pair of these http://www.nrs.com/product/2417/nrs-rapid-gloves, 1.5mm of toasty warm neoprene with good dexterity.
Below 20 deg F everything ices up too fast and I stay home.

Re: Getting the young ones out in open boats
I have a tandem VertigeX (not triple saddle) and it's great for kids in the bow seat, dry, fairly easy to handle. We run a couple of Class III local runs (Lower Yough and Stoney Creek Canyon) and lots of class II with my 6 (now 7) year old daughter in the bow. It even surfs well with my little bow g...

Re: A bad break
RodeoClown can better address this but I can state with some confidence that there have been very, very, few Options cracked, only one that I know of that was a non blem and that one survived Tommy Hag for three years before cracking (I say it was a cry for help). Octanes are a bit more susceptible ...

Not Elvis (memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=857) paddles an Inazone 240 C1 conversion as his main boat and considers it to the pretty much perfect.

Re: Best Place to Order Cheap Foam
I use a LOT of Harbor Freight Anti Fatigue Floor Mats, a LOT. They sell for $8-10 (-20% with coupon) a 4 pack. Each piece works out to be approx 23"x23"x7/16" after using a belt sander to remove the texture that is seared onto one side. I just did a C1 conversion for $40 using Harbor Freight floor m...

Re: Best foot forward?
I have a couple of boats that have pegs that are not lined up quite evenly and I just set each side to where it feels right. I wouldn't worry over it.

Is the pump wired correctly? If you have the polarity reversed it'll still pump but SLOWLY.

Re: Charging iPhone & other items on multi day trip....
iPhones are notoriously finicky beasts when it comes to charging and with each new generation they seem to become worse. I have one lithium ion backup pack rated for something like 3000mAH that works for iPhones when fully charged but most of the ones that I have tried have not worked at all. This m...
