... them should help you down but it would be best if you could follow a fellow canoer who knows the routes well. I would also suggest you take your Descender for your first time. As we are rolling into the fall paddling season, I am guessing you plan on the springtime/early summer to get that run ...

... few... and laugh all you want, but at the time of their debut they were considered creek boats (remember so was the Dagger Cascade!) - Blackwater -Descender -Hornet -Magnet At least two of those are post - Cascade (Hornet, which was based on the Cascade) and Magnet), so plastic didn't replace composite ...

... paddled both the Whirlwind and Sequel, I would say each model is different from the other. The Whirlwind reminded me of a smaller version of the Descender. Even though the Sequel was made by Blue Hole, it's design and paddling characteristics reminded me more of the Mad River Rampage and Fantasy ...

... had a limited appeal after it hit the paddling market because it's smaller dimensions made for a wetter ride than Nolan's other boats (Piranha, Descender). Personally, I thought the design was good and liked it the few times I paddled it back in '98. I preferred it over the Probe models. Have ...

That sounds really great-- any comments on recommended paddler weight? I'm 6'1"/ 190 and am really enjoying paddling both a Whitesell Descender and a 2010 outrage-- lots of class III this summer. Rolling both sides on both boats, and having a ball. With the two round bottom boats I'd like ...

Re: Recently acquired old Whitesell (Piranha?) that needs TL

Nolan uses Royalex for his boats, some of them are the r-light version (lighter weight). If the boat is 13 (something) feet, it is a Descender. If it is 14 (something) feet, it is a Piranha. The dent should come out with gentle and gradual heating with a heat gun/hair dryer. Avoid a propane ...

Re: Whitesell Descender

Thanks for the heads up on the Descender Bob.

Update: Seller actually has 2 Descenders, but according to email I received from seller, deals for both of them are going down either tonight or tomorrow.

I give up; it's not that important to me anymore.
