Re: Teaching Canoe Rolling?
If someone, and it won't be me, could come up with a method/program/whatever of teaching canoeists a roll closer to day one then they get the straight Hall of Fame shot, no shortlisting IMHO. Einar, ask Rick (Pierre) about his method, he had me rolling after about 30 minutes. Though admittedly I ha...

Re: shorten my paddle
When I started paddling I was constantly switching back and forth between a 54" and a 56". The 56" was awkward for cross strokes but I loved the power and leverage. On the other hand the 54" was easy to manuever but strokes felt weak and ineffective. I eventually forced myself to try each one for se...

Thanks for the vid, always enjoy them.
Is there decent paddling in the summer in your parts? Thinking of heading down for a week or so once our rivers dry up.

Re: Drilling Anchors in C1
I do the same thing but I use a soldering iron to make the holes in the webbing. Works really well. I use the biggest fender washers I can to both protect the plastic of the boat and to prevent the strap from tearing.

Re: kayak conversions with higher back deck?
Most seem to be around 8", the Everest is definitely above average. I'm sure you know all of this but.. I haven't been able to find a shoe with any sort of heel that'll work in a c1. They also need to be bendy, as in bend backwards like your foot does when its flat on the deck. also- I see a lot of ...

Re: kayak conversions with higher back deck?
Is there an Everest owner out there that can measure the height of the back deck for me?

I'm assuming the glue issue has been resolved with the h20. I've been abusing mine for a year and it's still in one piece.

Riverken,
Be very careful with that Vitamin C. I personally don't think they went thick enough with the tip, they wear down pretty quick. I compared it next to a Bandit, quite a bit thinner.

Re: paddle suggestions
So far I've tried a Werner bandit, aquabound edge, saltwood vitamin c, h20 c1 and a Mitchell premier. H20 takes a serious beating but as far as feel goes I'm in love with the Mitchell.

kayak conversions with higher back deck?
In my remix my heels/ankles are pretty cramped, I've actually had to notch my hip pads around my heels. Any boats out there with more clearance for those of us with big feet?
Pyranha Everest appears to be better, but it's hard to tell just from pictures.

Offside hole roll?
So I experienced my first mini thrashing in a hole today, educational to say the least. I went into it and got side surfed pretty quick with my onside down stream. When I flipped I panicked initially when I realized I was getting side surfed upside down but managed to regain my composure and get my ...

Re: savage skreem
Unless it's just going to be a pool session boat I think it's safe to say you chose the wrong hull. The trim's going to be awful and you're going to have stability issues.
You need a wide boat (26" or more) and a cockpit large enough to get far enough forward for proper trim.
