I'll have to clear that method with cheajack. I reckon it would work with humans as long as the rescuer is sufficiently taller than the victim. I'll ask the docs at work.

There are new boaters coming along. Tonight I was paddling as a support boat while Leah Ruckle was teaching an "Intro to Canoeing" class to a group of six college students. Good students, good kids, and a fine young instructor.

I have some sheets of 1/8" and 1/16" ABS and some ABS cement. It won't be pretty, but I think we can do something with that piece of junk.
