[quote="Bob P"]I've never seen the "offside slap" in a video either, but I've used in in my C1 a fair amount. I sit too low in my OC for it to work very well - I'm not that flexible anymore. And, I remember that it caused a lot of pain in my arthritic power shoulder. But that's a whole 'nuther subje...

When I last outfitted a c1, my backrest was higher by about 3-4 inches. the skirt has generally no issues unless it's a proper kayak skirt. neo is pretty stretchy. good luck.

they are both good boats, but at the weight of his team, i think they could do either. I too have paddled the X with the triple set up, and it works well for either.

try and hop in a vertige, and at that weight, I think that if you were really close, you could paddle most things.

[quote="TheKrikkitWars"][quote="bearboater"]Not to mention that if you had a perfect forward stroke, you wouldn't have hit the rock, you'd have made the line... I agree on the caption, and you may be able to get away with a vertige, not the vertige X, but the regular. they have a lot of buouyancy. I don't know if I'd want to go that much shorter with 365. I think someone said it, but the xl13 may fit the bill. I know you want shorter, but i don't know, i fe...

fair enough, I should have been more specific, play boating is race derived. I understand the argument about the voyaguers, that was actually my introduction to ww, through long expedition style canoe trips. but i guess I think of ww paddling as working to get batter at ww, through the means of padd...

Erik Amason was in the video for spout run, what's sketchy is that the bottom hole is made by a massive pile of concrete and rebar... I'd forgotten he ran that in his xxx.

I would not go any higher with the saddle, and one idea that I think works best for hip pads is to have them integrated into the ankle pad, and all the way up the side of the boat, so that you have contact from the bottom of the ankle all the way up the hip/side of thigh. In my personal opinion, tha...

I resent the fact that you think working on a perfect forward stroke is simply due to the fact that "i'm a racer." I'm a creeker, playboater, Oc1er too. how many playboaters do you see who have a horrible forward stroke? how many C1's or (i know, blasphemy) kayakers do you see who have zero core rot...

wow...

the only two people I know that don't work on their forward strokes are Martikan and Tony Estanguet. Oh, actually they do. I couldn't disagree more with you on folks naturally having a good forward stroke. My forward took 3 years of coaching to get where it is. and it still needs work. I can recall ...
