The Boat Builders Manual???

Any Boat, Gear, or outdoor related item you have for sale. If you use it on a paddling trip, or to prepare for one, it's fair game.

I'm looking for a copy of the "Boat Builders Manual" by Charlie Walbridge.

Any ideas?

I think my wife found mine at Barnes & Noble's web site. I think Amazon has it too. It's only available used. My copy actually has a sticker on the back "Goodwill Industries $.95" That's a deal!

I was pretty sure that at one time I saw another of Walbridge's books (the canoe outfitting one) available on-line electronically (for download?) for a fee at Amazon. I don't see that now, though. I do think that is a good idea, especially for books with such a small market that don't make economic sense to be published in print.

Boat Builder's manual

I believe John Sweet has permission to reprint - I believe I read that on his site.

You could try contacting them; http://www.johnrsweet.com/News.html

What's the diffrence between editions?

Post by cheajack »

This thread now has me curious. Some time ago I bought River Runners Emporiums lending library form Howard DuBose and sure enough, I have a copy of Charlie Wallbridge's 4th ed. (1979) Boat Builder's Manual. Is there a difference between editons as far as content? Maybe it is time to draw Charlie out to comment.

Thanks guys,

The way I understand it, Charlie made changes with each edition, adding thoughts and input from fellow paddlers and boat builders.

I don't know how many editions there are.

Thanks again.
