Post by TomDetrick »

Classic Dagger Caper. Completely outfitted for tandem or solo use. Excellent condition. This twenty year old canoe has been garage stored and I would venture a guess and say it has not been on the water more then ten times!! $675

Good to hear of a surviving Caper. I remember watching a couple run the Nolichucky at 2400 cfs in a Caper.

Couldn't find much info on the web... Is this some kind of a longer version of the caption?

Not longer, but a different hull design. It has a more marked center pivot section, and is maybe a bit less flat-bottomed.

I think the Caper was build as a 14 foot solo boat back in the day. I belive it was the second boat dagger made after the tandem Dimension.

Caper

Post by boathead »

I am quite certain that the Caper was Dagger's first canoe. It was originally marketed as a solo boat but was also later released as the Caper T, a tandem version that was identical to the solo original but I believe it came outfitted with two kneeling thwarts. Next came the Encore, Impulse and Dimmension as well as the Prophet, Rival and the rest is history.......... The Caper has NO resemblance to either a Caption or a Dimmension.....
