I WTB a used OC1 at Canoecopia

Post by lung »

I'm still searching for my 1st used OC1. Anyone going to canoecopia in Madison Wisconsin that would like to rid themselves of a used MR Outrage, Ocoee, Viper 11, L'Edge, Prelude, etc?? Any of those boats that sound good on paper :) Getting a forgiving boat for a beginner sounds nice, but climbing up a steep learning curve for a pot of gold doesn't sound all that bad either.

ps.. I found a fully outfitted Probe 11 in good condition for 600. Anybody care to offer an opinion on that boat?

Thanks for the vote Bob. I don't see as much people talking about the virtues of this boat as I do the others. I think I might get to try a probe this weekend in a pool, which will help with making a decision.

the reason you dont see many people talking about it is it is an older style boat. it's still a great boat, it just isn't radical and new. it's stable, fast, and fairly maneuverable. it's fairly easy to paddle, so you won't get frustrated very much (i paddled one when i was 7 and still have it) but you won't grow out of it. i have a friend who ran linville in one.
