Larry-

Sounds very interesting--i am very interested---where are you located (in N. California I assume), and where are you trying to get your wheelboy delivered from....got a fair chunk of time off in late sept/ October....let me know...

also--how beat up is the viper, is there any major strucutral damage or just a bunch of river rash and other misc dings....what sort of outfitting does she have....

-thanks for your help,

I looked at that Viper again and it's pretty funky. The chines are beat and pretty spongey. The stern is split and patched and needs to be re-patched (it's split, but not all the way through). Other than that it's O.K. You can paddle it as is.
The outfitting is the mohawk team edge? saddle (long saddle with a thwart at each end and foot braces), double thigh straps. Ive robbed the lower set of staps but the anchors are there and good. It was a good set-up, very secure and comfy. The bags may or may not hold air.
If you are still interested i can e-mail some pics.
The Wheelboy(s?)
I don't know when or where they they will arrive. If ever. I'm sure it would not be any time in September, slim chance for October.
