So, I tried to sell this boat before but was kind of lazy about it...
I want 600 CDN for it. It is on Van Island, in Victoria. Good shape,

Hi Jan,
I'm not exactly a freestyler, I still try to avoid most holes and side surfing. But, I'm curious and more-or-less in the neighbourhood.
For the right price, like if I can find some friends to make it a shared boat, perhaps we'd try it as a novelty.
I'll do a bit of research into the Quake (I don't know anything about these little OC rodeo boats), and if it can run a river and carry a 200lbs man, I might be mildly interested.

Hey Pat,
It is not a playboat really. You can play in it and it was designed as a playboat but I see the strength in harder whitewater. If you want to take your paddling to the next level, you can learn to boof and stuff like that in the Quake.
It also is a very nice beginner boat since it is friendly but has enough release edge to carve.
Some people don't like the speed, it is a relatively slow boat. I think that it comes down to adapt a different paddling style. It has quick acceleration compared to other boats but no glide. So you will have to perfect your technique to use this boat.
Oh yeah, you can also start trying rock spins and splats...tons of fun.
I still have not paddled the upper Tamihi and upper Slesse...
So I might come to the mainland when Tamihi and Slesse are running. I could bring the boat for you to try it on the Chilliwack there (or Tamihi if you want). If you want I could also paddle the canyon or something with you.

But, I don't know of anybody around here who has a little Quake-like boat, so it might be fun to try when you're over. As I said, I'll mention it around to the OCers here who are interested in "the next level."
I'm a long way from paddling the Ashlu, Nahatlatch, etc., that I've seen your photos of. I've never paddled the canyon section of the Chilliwack, never run Sleese Cr., and have only run Tamihi rapid and below a few times at low water. But I am interested in getting there. I'll e-mail you.
