Acrobat
The Full cut is the boat I'm getting!
well...
Mike - Darn you - you beat me to the email on that one - althought I was close! Looks like the it needs some love and attention (I received the photos too) but should be a fun project and a blast to paddle!
Bill - Glad you got that one - you'llreally enjoy the full cut. Had mine out last weekend and really had a hoot of a time on the LY!
Looking like and Acrobat Armada is in order!

Yah but my Acrobat is a Full. Not quite as much fun! But fun none the less.
So what are you going to do with that 1/2?
Jacob is eyeing up the BatBoat and has been in it twice. He's not as comfortable in the outfitting (verses the k world he has been evolving in) but starting to understand the differences and the demands. Its a cuiser for his weigh but has edges to keep him humble. I told him he has to "earn the right" to call it his!
You'll do fine in the new boat even park and play would be cool, and I'm sure it will sink for you (mine doesn't like to do that... yet - still figuring it out).
It looks like it needs some love but I'm sure your on that.
Stay in touch - right now it looks like I have to work weekend of Gualey but then there are other jobs out there!

I need to fix a crack near the stern of my 1/2". Right now I'm still looking at it & thinking about how I want to fix it. I've been knocking around the idea of patching with carbon, but I've never worked with it & am not sure that I could make it look as good as glass.
Edges - plural? My Acrobat only has one edge, it goes all the way around the boat
I don't need a squirt boat for down-river. I just need one for when the river here is high. In the spring all of the rapids are washed out & I only have eddy-lines to play on. The master cut is just what I need...at least until the Maven comes out
I'm off Gauley Fest weekend & the following weekend. I'll probably do both weekends on the lower.

Guys,
I may be at gauley fest this year and could bring my Acrobat. I know it's master cut, but I'm not really sure if it's 1/2" (there's a patch over the spec label). I'm only 150lbs wet and can't sink it, but I'm sure one of you could if you want try it out.
If you all are willing to babysit me on the Lower G on Saturday of the fest, I'll try it out. Otherwise I'll be living it up in the WB.
Take It Easy,
David

acrobat/gauley
I tried a .5 cut for about 2 min- I hope to learn more edge control (to start) with the full cut.
I'm planning on going to Gauley Fest too- and hope to meet up with some boaters for the Lower G.

Hope to see you guys at the G-Fest.
David I'm not sure about taking an Acrobat down even the LG - I'd be a weenie in the pushy stuff with my Full Cut since she can be a bit twitchy in bigger water. But I would be more then willing to baby sit you on the LG (and for borrowing yours at the sister ).
I'm trying to re-configure my Viper for the run but just can''t get the pain out of her. So I might be WB'g too.
Bill are you still interested in the Micro - let me know.
Cu you folks there! Paul C1

I for one am sure about my Acrobat & the Lower G...it aint happennin' I'd have a long day. I also am not ready for my playboats in that type of water. There are some sweet waves on that section. Getting to them is the tough part. I'll be comfortably strapped into my full cut Viper. So y'all bring the Acrobat & Wheelboy so I can play with 'em at the good spots
Paul, I can get you some photos of my Viper outfitting if you're interested. My seat is 8" high & 9" wide. I used the knee pads from NRS & still have the velcro thigh straps that were in it when I bought it. It's super comfortable. If I were to re-do it I'd probably go with a bulk-head & lap-belt. I think the bulkhead would help with squirts It could really use some hip pads too.
