Playboats for sale - one east coast, one west coast

West coast - Red Drakkar Wheelboy for sale. Used maybe 20 times, still in excellent condition. A year after buying this boat i started a business and then had a kid, and i just don't have time to playboat anymore. someone please give this excellent boat the attention it deserves. located in Portland, OR. Asking $500, negotiable.

East coast - Dagger Id 7.0 conversion. it's a bit tippy when going downriver, but surfs and goes vertical even better than the Wheelboy, at least for me. it is located in the Charleston, SC area at this time, but I'll be on the east coast in late june/early july and could bring it up to the Charlotte area if anyone is interested. I'll part with this one for $400, negotiable.

That makes two of us. At least after your post, I can see that a wheelboy isn't for me, about 220lbs, 6'4". Darn it.

Are there any US distributors of Drakkar? Where did you get your WheelBoy? Any suggestions for a good alternative to the FatBoy that IS available or someone who does super kayak conversions?

check into the drakkar bigboy, it's a larger version of the wheelboy, made for people our size... little bit longer, little bit bigger everywhere.
or a fluid flirt...

I bought the wheelboy directly from Drakkar online, and ConeBone from this site helped with the delivery process. I think Drakkar arranged to have them shipped as far as Seattle/Tacoma, and ConeBone picked them up at the port. I then drove up to Olympia and picked mine up at his house. It actually was easier and faster than i expected. I don't know if Drakkar currently has a US distributor.

I've never paddled a creeker conversion, so I can't offer any advice there, but i'm getting to the point where i'm considering trying one (i just don't particularly enjoy the conversion process). Given the lack of good plastic c-1 creekers and the lack of interest i have in tinkering with conversions, last year i decided to give kayaking a try. It was initially harder than i expected (hadn't done it in 15 years prior) and i swam some, but it has a much steeper learning curve than c-boating and i was fine on class IV pretty quickly. however, i have to say that i don't find it as much fun as c-boating, and am considering trying a Diesel or H3 conversion in the near future - i found both of these boats to be super stable as kayaks and therefore potentially good c-1s. As a kayak, i'm currently paddling a Jackson Super Hero, which is an excellent, very fast kayak for someone my size, but it feels too tippy to be a good c-1.

Probably the wrong thread to do it but I'll toss in a plug for the Bigboy also, I'm 6' 5" 210+ an it does fine for me as a play boat.

it's still for sale, but it's out on loan to a prospective buyer right now. if that buyer decides not to take it, i'll repost the ad.

Matt's boat is a steal since I don't think there will be any more coming to the US. I bought the last four boats in stock a little over a year ago. I'm guessing at the special intro price it was over $1100.
