After many years of only occasionally venturing into whitewater, I'm finally sick of being a mediocre. This year, I'm going to invest some time and develop some skills.
If I'm going to spend more time in my old Cascade, I should probably find a new skirt for it. Anybody know a source for an off-the-rack skirt that will fit? (I currently have two skirts, but they were both originally for slalom C-1s and are really, really tight...scary.)
Actually, to take this in a completely different direction, just thinking about spending more time in the Cascade is making my ankles throb. I have yet to find a way to get comfortable in the dam thing. The numbness starts after about 20 minutes. I suspect there is a chance my middle-aged ankles will never have the flexibility required for comfortable C boating.
Perhaps instead of inquiring about a skirt, I should ask if anybody is interested in trading an OC-1 or (if its allowed on this forum maybe even a kayak) for my Cascade. Putting up a little cash in addition to the Cascade is not out of the question; but I'm not really interested in spending all that much.
The Cascade is in Madison, Wisconsin. It has airbags, and the lap-belt style outfitting. It has plenty of scrapes and scratches, but, as far as I know, it's still structurally sound.

Stool
I made a stool the same size as the pedestal
in my C-1 and I have a rule that if I watch television
I sit on the stool. Now I can kneel as long as I like
in the C-1. I am retired; so the old joints can be
taught new tricks
