John,

Sounds like a fast boat. Question for you: Can it be paddled tandem, or is it strictly a solo boat? Thanks,

Paul

I haven't seen this boat... but I've seen one in action. Fast, and surprisingly dry.

Usually wins the Hudson River WW Derby downriver Open Canoe solo class....
Keep the C!

Kaz,
Is there a particular type of river/rapid the Swamp Hen is best used on (or not used on)? I'm thinking specifically of some of the narrower rockier races in the NECKRA circuit, like the Scantic, Hockanum, or Otter Brook . . . or on the other end of the spectrum Zoar Gap.

Hi Eric,
I've raced my Hen in the Scantic race years ago. Also raced in on the Yock, the lower Dead, the lower Kennebec, the James, the Nanny, the Deerfield, etc. I find that it's shorter length can can you in and out of tight situations a bit quicker than say the 16'6" boats. Just my opinion though. It's max paddler weight is probably around 180.

thanks,
