Footwear
So what type of footwear does everyone wear or like. I have always worn chacos in the summer and booties in the winter. But chacos seem to be falling apart now days.

Keen sandals are great for open boating.

Re: Footwear
Keens are OK if they don't fall apart - don't get me wrong, I like mine (have two pair), but I've had to stitch the side panels on both pair and have injected some glue between the "suede" and webbing to see if it holds better. You still get sand and rocks between sole and foot.
I have a pair of these that just won't die - they are about 15 years old - even though the sole is worn smooth, they still grip. I wore them this weekend while safety boating for an event, no slips on wet rocks...

I second Matt's recommendations. Try on the 5-10s before you buy them, especially if you have a regular to wide foot. I had to buy a size larger.

Re: Footwear
the Keen Gorge boot is pretty good, though a bit burly for everyday use. I like mine in colder conditions, and they fit really well over drysuit latex socks. Contrary to what was said about the Keens earlier, I found them to be a bit slippery from time to time... maybe they use different rubber on different models? They're pretty toasty though, haven't had cold toes in them once!
Peace Pow and Paddling!
