An outdoor consignment shop in my neighborhood got a pile of plastic buckles in which I'm pretty sure are identical to the ones that came with Dagger C-1 saddles. They do not have a release mechanism per se, but are curved adjustable ladder lock buckles for 2" flat webbing.
They seem to be charging me about .25 for them. I'm probably going to pick up the whole lot, and could get buckles out to anyone interested for the cost of postage.
