Looking for OC-1 near Chico, CA
I know this a long shot but my Detonator is about to bite the dust and I'd love to find a replacement without having to buy something new. I'd be interested in another Detonator, a L'edge, Spanish Fly or one of the new Big Dog models. If you have something similar that I did not list certainly let me know that as well.

Ha.
Good luck sucker. Thats what you get for leaving the South East.
Oh and enjoy your 2 months of snow melt, Just come crawling home if you miss the rain, all nine months of it (oh yeah and the dam releases in the other 3 too).

going boating tomarrow- nice, that boat needs some exercise. I think what you need is about a gallon of g-flex and a resporator. last I saw it still had a good 3 years in it at current rates of usage assuming you are willing to paddle boats in the same state of disrepair that I am. Of course it may take 3 years to find a replacement.
Wes and I did do horrible things to those detonators though.
Congrats on the new job.
J (just finnished 30 days of paddling in a row)

crawpappy-
I might be picking up an Option sometime this fall. If it comes to pass, we should try to hook up. Plenty of northern sierra runs still flowin till it snows. Lots actually flow all year long, relatively close to Chico.
Peace

Yo 'Pappy-
Got myself an Option earlier this fall, so let's keep in touch this winter/spring for some fun. BTW, you might want to check with Sierra Outdoor Center in Auburn (if you haven't done so already) for a potential OC1. Good luck!

Dunno if you'll have much luck out here, man. I'd try to broaden your search a bit, hit up Smurfwarrior to see if maybe he's got a boat he'd be willing to let go. He's out in Utah, tho. There's also the LCCC (lower columbia canoe club) up in Oregon. Seems like they've got quite a few members who may have some to get rid of. Unfortunately it's been my experience that open boaters in the Sierra are a VERY rare breed. I had to order my Option direct from Blackfly and pay to have it shipped out. Wicked expensive for sure, but I know I'll prolly have it forever. Good luck in your search!
Peace Pow and Paddling!

Back off those Oregon boats! We in BC like to look for our used boats from the LCCC, and there's not enough to go around, sorry!
