New to Whitewater Canoeing, Advice sought please?

I am new to whitewater canoeing in East Tennessee (Hiawassee River) & Western NC (Nantahala River)). I am seeking advice and looking to possibly purchase a solo whitewater Royalex (or comparable canoe material) canoe. I am 6'2", 185 lbs. I understand the discontinuation of Royalex (or improved mfr material), it my understanding that used canoes can be found? Where? What brand? What size? How much should I expect to pay for used in good condition (ballpark)? Hoping to purchase this canoe and not need to upgrade in a few years. Hopefully not asking too much. Appreciate advice and consideration. Thanks in advance!
