If you're capable of any fiberglass work at all, you can build a completely new cockpit, or just add to the front half. Walbridge's Boat Builder's Manual is a good resource, and there are many here who can easily describe the process.

i know i could reshape the cockpit, but id rather not try to mess with it. it would be much easier to just find a skirt that fits it. today, i was paddling with the person i bough it from, and she had a level six skirt that worked. i also saw another person there with a peakuk skirt on another boat woth the same size cockpit.
