Attention Feeder Canal paddlers -- You may have noticed a new path that has been cut from the Tow Path down to the River's edge along the Feeder Canal at Lock 6. On May 16, the C&O Canal Trust, the National Park Service, members of the Navy, and local volunteers worked on building a new path from the Lock #6 parking lot to the walk bridges, and also cut the trail from the Tow Path. This new Feeder path will help paddlers and members of Team River Runner to get to the water a bit easier.
A second workday is planned for Saturday, May 30 to Finish work on the put-in path. Please considering coming out to work, even a couple hours will help, thank you! You'll need to register with the C&O Canal Trust with contact info directly below.

Hello,
I would like to thank those of you who worked so hard at Lock 6 this past Saturday! We couldn’t ask for more dedicated, hard-working volunteers.
We’re hoping to have the same level of enthusiasm on Saturday, May 30th as we continue with the trail project. The park service need another thirty volunteers to help build the new trail and revegetate the old. We’ll be getting started around 9am and working until the project is completed.
If you’re interested in participating, please let me and/or Peggie Gaul know via email or phone. And of course, spread the word!
Peggie’s email is peggie_gaul[at]partner[dit]nps[dot]gov and her phone number is 301-223-4151.
Thank you!
