Fiberglass Noah C-1..what is it?

Post by chuck naill »

As some know from previous postings, I bought an old Noah Fiberglass C-1. I thought the boat was the standard 13.2 X 28 demension. After measuring it, it turns out to be 12.6 X 28. The color is yellow on top and natural on the bottom. It has the old white foam as pillars. The Noah trademark is imprinted in the bow and stern. :D

Any ideas about what model this is? :)

I am using the white foam and building a minicel pedestal that are attached to the white foam pillars. THe spray skirt I saved from the Gyromax and Slasher fit the cockpit well.

Thanks for the help.

Chuck,
Can you post a pic? If it doesn't have wings, then most likely it is an Atlantis.

I remember that you thought it might be an Atlantis. I measured the depth of the cock pit and it is approx 11 inches. :)

I don't have access to a digital camara, sorry
Thanks

I contacted the builder and even he does not remember building this boat.

Chuck,
Best I can remember Vladamir only had 3 C-1 molds - Jape (wings), Ultramax (his mold had a groove down the center bow and stern) and the Atlantis.

I built 3 or 4 boats out of the ultramax mold - for each one he gave me a small paper ID card to laminate in the boat - See if you can find one laminated into your boat - it should be somewhere in the cockpit area.

But - if you deck is smooth and the boat doesn't have wings, I'm pretty sure it is the atlantis.

the Noah C-2 we have has a card laminated in that looks like a "form" - a variety of models are listed with a check mark indicating the boat it is! Ours is a "Moldau". One of these days we'll get it finished (cokpit rims, outside seam, and outfitting)...

I remember seeing the "form" when I glued the new minicell pedistal in. I thought it was the logo for the type of fiberglass that was used.

I have taken the boat out a couple of times. It is really neat to see how much faster these boats are. I was able to front durf in some pretty shallow waves and was very stable.

I am thinking that the boat is at least 25 years old. There are no patches, but one very small crack in the stern that I would appreciate your input into the best preventive fix.

Regards,
