I am Leaving to go to australia for the frestyle kayak world champs. in about two weeks, and i will be brining my boat with me on the trip. So if anyone has a kayak bag I could borrow to carry my boat in, for the airflight there and back, that would be awsome.
I would really like to thank everyone who has already helped make this trip possible for me. You guys are awsome

boat bags
Seth- I don't have a spare boat bag, but I do have a suggestion -- tube cloth. Any fabric supply house will have it and its inexpensive. It's a stretchy cotton fabric that comes in tube form. You need the length of the boat, plus about 3 feet extra on either end (an extra 6 feet or so total). Place boat in center of tube, tie knot in front, tie knot in back and you're done. Be sure to write contact info on the cloth in thick marker. The cloth isn't padded, so it won't protect the boat from abuse, but plastic rodeo boats don't need much protection. I've used this to ship slalom and ww boats when some form of "packaging" was required. Good luck and have fun

edg1's suggestion is a good one. Another is to go to a local feed mill and get a few of the large burlap feed bags. They are cheap and can take a LOT of abuse and protect pretty well. They work for transporting backpacks and climbing gear intenationally as well.
Your boat should fit by place one over each end and then duct taping the ends together. You can then also add strapping (or Duct tape) for handles. The frieght guys appreciate the handles.
Get a couple extra bags to take with you - toss in the boat) in case yours get ripped, etc. since they weight nothing.
Also check out the Angst Message Board for some other tips - some of those folks have a lot of experience in that area.
Oh and best of luck to you and the rest of the competitors - we'll be looking for updates!
PS: Make sure you smile!
