kayak conversions with higher back deck?

Post by GSG »

In my remix my heels/ankles are pretty cramped, I've actually had to notch my hip pads around my heels. Any boats out there with more clearance for those of us with big feet?

Pyranha Everest appears to be better, but it's hard to tell just from pictures.

The Karma looks like it may have a higher deck behind the cockpit, it does not seem to have that dip behind the kayakers hips like most others do.
Its not about the approach. Its about control in the hole.

Is there an Everest owner out there that can measure the height of the back deck for me?

Pyranha Nano looks like it would be a great conversion and it has a really deep cockpit.s

seems like any creek kayak is going to be similar back there. they need to be able to lean back without breaking their spine.

I'm sure you know all of this but.. I haven't been able to find a shoe with any sort of heel that'll work in a c1. They also need to be bendy, as in bend backwards like your foot does when its flat on the deck.
also- I see a lot of really wide saddles... I make my saddles 7" wide at the backrest, but they taper back down to 3" at the rim.. for the sole purpose of footroom.

Most seem to be around 8", the Everest is definitely above average.

All good advice, still not getting the room I'd like. Just need another inch or so.
