Saddle placement is great. I couldn't be more pleased with the boat design and workmanship, outfitting, handling, price, shipping and communication with Kaz. This is my second Millbrook. Glad I went the composite route. Weight is fantastic! Sometimes I paddle with some double-bladed folks, and my boats are lighter than theirs. It messes with their heads when thy pick it up.

What range of paddler weights can the Blink handle?

I know it handles at least 220 pounds great. The lower limit would only be determined not by weight but by torso height as it is a deep boat. I am short, 5 foot 3 1/2 inches and I elevated the saddle 1/4 onch and may add another 1/4.

Thanks Wendy. I'm 5'-9/180 so it sounds like it would handle me fine.

I was 180-185 lbs when I designed it for myself if that helps :)
I think it works quite well for a broad range though.

Yeah, but one should adjust expectations and paddling approach based on the load in the boat.

For my considerable height, and diminishing weight (210), the Blink will be pushed down into the water, and I would feel the chines more. I would have to adapt torso leans to not over-influence the boat. My Millbrook Edsel (dead successor to the Fat Boy) sits very light on the water, and while that doesn't seem to affect edging, the boat can be unmanageable on a windy day.

The Blink does not sit low even loaded to a weight of 230. It paddles so light I do moves like I was in my 20s. I have paddled it in low water runs like lower Green and Jonathan Ceek at low water and it is fantastic. The edges did not catch. I also recently paddled it on the Fench Broad at 2300 cvs, no pump, no problem. I emptied it 3 times and only had 1 1/2 inches each time going smack thru big wave trains. It hoofs like the L'Edge and has a sweet ferry. Think light, light, lite L'Edge.
