ALF 2015 Dates?
I'm getting ready to put in a vacation request, and wanted to be sure about the dates for ALF this year. Would it start on Sunday March 15th and run the rest of that week? I had a blast last year, and want to make sure I'm there again this year.
Thanks,
Rob
Thanks,
Rob

In case you are not on facebook: March 14th-22nd are the dates for ALF. People come a day early and paddle Friday. Largest crowds are first 5 days in my experiences of 5 ALFs.

Re: ALF 2015 Dates?
Thanks for the responses. I thought the dates I had were right, just wanted to be sure. Too much fun to miss out on.
I never did make it up to Shoney's last year. Maybe this year, if that is still a gathering point.
See ya,
Rob

Re: ALF 2015 Dates?
Thanks everyone.
Wendy, cadster, I wasn't on Facebook, now I am. Just easier to keep up with everything.

ian123, this is the calender I was using. Should be good for future ALF's.

Roger, thanks for the info on Shoney's. Would still like to run the Tellico for a couple of days, but if other stuff is up, I would like to explore.
See ya,
Rob

ALF site onWeb?
O.K., it's me, I'm a klutz.
But i can't seem to connect to any site that outlines ALF as an event.
Any pointers to any sites with info? Cadster's link doesn't seem work, for me. (refer to klutz)
Maybe there isn't one, just show up; Tennessee doesn't seem that big.
If I show i'll be mooching off of relatives in Atlanta and driving.
Einar
Thanks

Paddling is easy, organizing shuttles is hard.
Not misplacing all your crap in somebody else's car seems to be even harder

Re: ALF 2015 Dates?
Elinar, show up at Shoney's at the Lenoir City exit. Folks start gathering around 8, more at 9, some at 10 etc. You won't miss the parking lot.

Re: ALF site onWeb?
Einar, do not commute back and forth to ALF from Atlanta. It's about 3.5 hours one-way from Atlanta to Lenoir City, TN. For such a big open boater event, it's very loosely organized. The Facebook page is really the main info/discussion page for it on the entire internet. As was said, just show up at the Shoney's parking lot, Exit 81 on I-75 around 8:30am, or I'm sure lots of folks will be rallying at CMT campground (http://www.cmtrails.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) where a large group will be camping / cabin-ing.Einar wrote:O.K., it's me, I'm a klutz.

If you are looking for an upgrade from the King's Inn....
Days Inn (walking distance to Shoney's) is offering a rate of $58 a night plus tax.
Tel: 865-986-2011 and let them know you are coming for ALF

Re: ALF 2015 Dates?
best part about ALF is how it all just flows without being "organized". you definitely want to stay local so you don't miss the last minute organizing.
