So has anyone paddled one of those newer short boats? I read on Davey Hearn's website that the minimum length is half a meter shorter.
Related question: who's building good race boats these days, I mean full race layup?
Thanks mates!

I haven't paddled any of the cut-down boats either. Maybe someone else on here has experience . . .
I hear a certain maverick boat designer from T-Ville is launching a new c-1 from his basement boat shop this season. It will be called "The Supra-Spinatus" and will only do lefty moves. The boat is coated in some chemicals - this makes it smell very bad - which helps thin out the crowds for those rowdy days on the Dryway when one is just trying to do one's freakin "standard moves" for goodness sake. So when you come flying across the wave in the midst of the Dragon's Tooth attain, people will catch a whiff and get right back in that eddy, yessir.
No, im just cyber-teasing some of our lurkers. There are really no slalom boaters left at T-Ville . . .

Short Slalom C-boats
All of the major European Slalom boat companies have a first pass of short boats available.
In no particular order (and no recommendations);

I haven't paddled any of them yet. Most of them look like shortened 4 Meter boats - I don't think there are any revolutionary designs out yet - but we can always hope they will come along soon.
What I have seen so far is the wings are gone, the ends are blunted, so I guess there will be less chance of blowing the ends off. We'll see what the racing season holds.
