Jim Coffey is putting together a really cool rescue training course. Here is a little info on it.
I have recently been asked to facilitate a River Rescue Workshop in the SE USA. The request was to do program that is purely scenario driven with coaching/instructional feedback given from each scenario. The idea is to provide advanced River Rescue training to those that ALREADY possess high end rescue skills and refine their skills under realistic "scenario driven" circumstances.
To qualify to participate you must be competent/confident:
1. Swimming in moving water
2. Throwing
3. Wading
4. Using your Rescue Harness and Rescue Tether
5. Have a strong grasp of Rigging and Technical Rope Systems (Including Anchors, MA, Improvised Harnesses, Rappelling, Raising)
6. Understand/Grasp Basic Rescue Strategy
7. Paddle competently at a class 4 level (Canoe or Kayak)
Wed. March 16 will be an optional refresher day for anyone that wants/needs to review any of the above skills.
Workshop is limited to 9 participants… please spread the word to anyone you think that qualifies and would benefit from this type of training.
(Certification would meet/exceed ACA Level 5)
Cost:
$100 for 1 Day Refresher Course (March 16)
$200 for 2 day Scenario Driven Workshop (March 17 & 18)
Payment can be made via Paypal to Espritmex@gmail.com
