One of my buddies came across this article and was trying to figure out what was going on in this photo, we were hoping that another view of the rapid might give some context.

So, what rapid is this? I'm assuming somewhere in Quebec. And, out of curiosity, any idea who the paddler is?

According to this post in Cboats, the paddler is Vincent Dupont.

No idea. Some dam in Canada? I haven't been able to find it with Google.

It's the cover shot from the H2 HO video by Ben Aylsworth. The paddler is Vincent Dupont, and it's a dam outside of Montreal.

Keez got it right. It is Vincent Dupont

It is the Coaticook Gorge in the Eastern Townships in Quebec.
Features in the infamous canadian paddling video H2 HO.
The video of the descent is still on youtube.
Vince runs it first in a C1 and then at the end of the video in a WOOZ.
