I've been building a few canoes in my basement. It's just a hobby and I don't plan on going in the canoe business. However, I want to have decals made with a company name and model to make them look more professional. As far as I know, my company name is not taken. If I wanted to legally secure my name, how would I go about it? Thanks!

Re: Company Name?
Thank you, JKaz. You pointed me in the right direction. Apparently, this is very doable (application > fee > bingo!) However, it looks like something an attorney would need to look over (lots of ominous legal jargon on the application). I may consider this in the future but for now I might have some generic decals made like:
"I Built This" or
"DIY Special" or
"It Floats!" or maybe just
"Canoe"
Thanks again.

Re: Company Name?
Just register a DBA (Doing Business As) with your local county or state. Here in Arkansas it is a one time filing fee of $25.00.
