Riot 007 as C1?

I am thinking of converting to C1 and have a 007. Does anyone have any experience with this boat or an opinion of how it might handle?

pretty good...

i liked it mainly because it was short. it has a lot of volume up front and a pretty narrow cockpit so i had to shave out the inside of the cockpit rim to get far enough forward to balance the boat. it also helped to have fairly skinny legs. the boat surfed and cartwheeled ok, but was a bit elliptic because of the discrepancy in volume (lots in front, very little in back).

i'd rather paddle something more symmetric (ie more equal volume in front and rear) like a disco, a tekno (which is really really good) or if not riot, then like an ez, or one of those new pyranha s-6 boats.

since a c-1 paddler kneels, all his body mass is centered in the boat, as opposed to a kayak, where the weight of the paddler's legs is up front, so a boat designed for kayakers would have more volume up front, less in back while a c-1 ought to be about equal. and the 007 was designed to compensate for those legs up front. it wasn't a bad c-1, but i like them short and symmetrical, like disco and tekno, where all the volume is in the center where the c- boater is, with slicy tips for control.

benefit of the 007 is you might find a cheap used one and it's short enough to be pretty fun as a playboat. it is slow, though. disco's faster. pretty much anything is faster.

007.....

My friend has a 007 c-1. He only has it because he got it for free.

I tried it and it was literally the slowest boat I have ever paddled. I hated the piece of junk. It wasn't really good at anything and I couldn't find anything positive about it accept that it was stable.
It turned good, but I had so little speed that I felt like I was paddling a concreate block.
