Here are some outfitting pics of the mystery boat Marshall gave me.I'm not to sure what it is.It is 27"wide just behind the cockpit. It's 8"deep to the cockpit rim.It currently is 10'6" long, but if you carry the lines of the edges,it would come out to about 12'6".
I glue in 1"minicell for the thigh pads.and then shaved them almost through to the cockpit rim.2 layers of 1/4"under the knees.
the backrest is 1" in front of the rim and braced off it.
The beaver tails are out of light weight cutting boards from Wal-mart.
-Mak a template out of cardboard
-Cut em out with a scroll saw
-Mark ending points
-Bend in a vise with a heat gun or torch, heat gun much safer..
-mark and drill mounting holes, always nice to make the mount long enough to put more holes for adjustment.
-mount and get in
-decide how much foam to add.
-making the foam a little bit bigger allows you to glue foam to foam as well as giving padding on the edges.
The blue boat is my WaveSport Z conversion.those were the first beavertails that I made.

I was going to do an A+ job of repairing this relic, but after countless hours of sanding,I realized that it would be a waste of time.So I cut out as much of the bad stuff as I could.Especially the spots where Duct tape was used as a laminate in between the glass.I looks like it will be a fun boat until it comes apart.
Look for it at the Spring Armada, you won't be able to miss it.

Hmmm
Interesting (and very nice!) outfitting. I find the "bolt caps" interesting, as well as the "D" rings-my standard cut Acrobat is outfitted teh same way (strap-wise at least)(ok, until I modified it...).
Given the volume around the cockpit, I have two thoughts:
1) Cut down slalom boat
2) Perhaps another one of the elusive Aerobats like Wills? The shape does look similar.

Keep the C!

The long/short on it:
Grom what I understand,It was picked up at Gauley Fest a number of years ago.The end were busted off,the guy duct taped the ends, and paddled the Upper Gauley in it.
It then found its way to Marshalls garage where it has avoided the dumpster.
I'll try to get some action shots in the pool.
Thanks for the info Adam, hopefully it will make it to the Armada this spring.
