Got T-Shirt image for Ain'tLouieFest on today's Chattooga

Ran Section IV with Jim Michaud, Heidi, Sean and Craig (from Boston area) Flow was 1.48 on bridge gauge and 1.6 something on USGS gauge and holding well for those interested in doing it tomorrow. This group of northern boaters really showed their metal on the Southeast's most infamous run today. Not just upright and dry runs (mostly) but really clean lines. As a Chattooga local I tried to point out the best ones but they all excelled independant of my instructions.

One scary moment when Heidi cleaned Jawbone but stuck the nose of her Outrage in the opening of the cave where my friend Rod and his kayak went under Hydroelectric Rock for six minutes back in 2002 (and made a full recovery thanks to the efforts of those on hand) But unlike Rod's Inazone, Heidi's Outrage would not fit in the cave under the rock and she kept her composure and backpaddled away with it as I nervously gripped the throwrope 20 feet away. Moments later, Jim, Heidi and Sean cleaned Soc-em Dog, one of the Chattooga's most unpredictable rapids. Running off the left lip of the launching pad, Heidi got an incredible stern squirt ender in her Outrage! Jim captured a digital still of it and I have it on video. Hope to post that in the near future, but this should be the image for the Ain'tLouieFest 07 T-Shirt! An awesome day was had by all, which we finished by rescueing a couple of drunk kayakers who had flipped their pickup truck! Looking forward to SATURDAY on the Cheoah. Louie, be there!
