Hey howdy hey! I am the proud new owner of my first c1 (Dagger Atom, arrives tomorrow, I cannot WAIT to get out on a river.
I can't express how excited and happy I am. I started paddling in open canoes, when I went to white water I bought an Dagger Legend and my wife and I paddled some easy stuff together but she was a little too scared of whitewater, eventually I wanted to get a decked boat and I fell in love with the Atom, but 6 years ago you just couldn't get an Atom for cheap, so I waited...and waited...
And I turned to the dark side. Yes, I went kayaking. I owned about 5 kayaks (still have two) and cut my teeth on whitewater but I kept watching the C1ers and it looked so dang elegant, I knew that one day I'd just HAVE to come back tothe canoe.
Finally I have my dream boat! And if everything goes well, I'll be moving out to Colorado, so the Atom will get a great workout on lots of rivers out yonder.
But then I realized...I don't know how to roll a C1!
so... I'm looking for some good C1 instruction videos, Iwant to learn the strokes properly from the start to avoid learning bad habits.
What can I find online that shows step by step how to roll the C1?
How about the other strokes?
I've got good canoe strokes, but my understanding is that youdon't really do J strokes in C1s, so what do you all recommend?
Thanks again and I hope to see you on a river somewhere!
