definately a big difference.

BTW, don't ya hate it when you are playin somewhere and get flipped, you roll up and the crowd cheers...
IT'S NOT A TRICK!!!! it's just a roll like in a kayak.
nobody cheers when a yaker pulls off a combat roll..
Bugs the crap out of me . I know that alot of openboaters don't roll, but come on...
Onthe Cheat I got so fed up that when I would roll in a feature and people would cheer I'd SCREAM at them"It's not a trick, it's a roll. ARGGGGHHHHH!!!!!! the trick was what I was doing BEFORE I got shaded!!"
I know, ranting right? still, if they want to see a real trickster then they should get on the river with Eli...
Amiga!!

At this point, I will get any applause I can. The thing that frustrated me that evening is that I must have made it look hard to the beginners I was with as they are saying - "no, I don't want to try the roll this season -that's too much for me"

Squeaky, you know you love it when you look so dreamy to all the old men when you roll that thing up.

It's the ember that warms your soul....

C-1 offside roll

Post by DaveM »

The C-1 offside roll is just an outgrowth of the bowmans roll from a C-2. Some folks would have the bowman switch on the way over and then both would be on their on-side. Others would just have the bowman do a offside or bowmans roll.

RE: Back deck roll..Kent does a great version...The back deck roll was a roll Bob Robinson used a lot. I recall he flipped at 92 team trials in a very shallow eddy, did a back deck roll, pivoted out of the eddy toward the next gate...pretty impressive
