Bike-shuttle the Ocoee?

Post by Oci-One Kanubi »

I'd bike-shuttle the Gallatin anytime, but you'd need a serious death wish to bike-shuttle the Ocoee, particularly given how easy it is to thumb that shuttle.

Also, you can make new friends hitch-hiking. We gave a guy a lift a few weeks ago, and he and his buddy turned out to be open boaters (from... Gainesville, GA? Athens, GA?), and they spent the day with us on the river. I'll be watching out for them next time I'm on the Ocoee; nice pair o' guys. Dang, didn't I write down their names and eMail addresses somewhere?

I might know those fellers

Was one of those guys paddling an Esquif Blast solo? My friends from Athens GA were on the Ocoee last Sunday, one in a Blast and the other in a Phantom.

I just re-read your post...you were on the Ocoee a couple of weeks ago when you met them. Could be the same guys though. Their names are Mike (Blast) and Randy(Phantom).
