Prelude - Outfitting Question

Post by Kanukid »

So, I just unwrapped a new Prelude!! What can you all tell me from prior experience? Is this bulkhead setup ready to go? I know that there is some fine tuning for my personal fit. Should I be concerned with glueing the components to the boat? I can imagine in the future trying to remove some items when having the boat welded. Let's hope I don't need to do this!

Thanks

Justin

I also just got home with my new Prelude. In addition to following Craig's "INFITTING" instructions, I'm also going to try to get Kanur to help me shorten the tops of the saddle (where it attaches to the thwarts) so it will be a little flatter on the bottom of the hull. I'm told this is how Frankie originally intended it.

Thanks to mshelton for pointing out the fantastic bargain on a brand new Prelude. I didn't even have to pay shipping.

mine was posted on boatertalk by Overflow Outfitters in Gainseville GA. It was the only one they had. I was thinkin it might have been the only new one available in the country.

I'll keep my eyes open for you.

hah, just grabbed the one before the last one there, Randy. I figured that last one would go pretty quick. awesome deal on it too.

I think they might have been some of the last ones in the US. don't quote me on that though.

Justin,
Unless you are you are really lucky and the Prelude outfittig fits you as it comes, it will have to be modified. Probably a lot. Feel free to PM me if you are interested in what I know. There is also a lot of good info buy using the search feature.

I tried KayakDayton and they didn't have anymore left although he said they still had a Spanish Fly.

For whoever asked about the price, I picked mine up for $1125 and free shipping. And yes it's brand new. :)
