So I am "team shoulder surgery member" now. Couple days ago they took my carcass under the knife and reattached the labrum.
Sounds like it went well. Now it's the waiting game...
Hopefully I'll be back "running the large steaming pile of dog doo" (whatever that means) in the spring. Can't wait to get back on the creeks.
How are all the other dudes doin' that had theirs fixed? Larry? Boating again?
Cheers, Jan

hey Jan, the first few days is special isn't it! at least your timing is good, you should be strong enough next spring for a cali road trip!
all i can say that might help is don't overdo it when it starts to feel better. it takes a long time to rebuild. i am a carpenter and i was back at work way too soon so it made my recovery take an extra long time. i would start to feel strong and overdo it at work and then spend three weeks paying the price. so take it easy and do what they tell you to do! it will eventually get better.
i started paddling again at six months. again... overdoing it. when you do start paddling, make sure to do SHORT runs for a while. trust me! i think i did three easy short runs and then giant gap ( i know....stupid) i am feeling pretty good now.... doing some fun low water easy five runs.. still have a little ways to go but hey, it's only been 9 1/2 months.
i know of other guys who had surgery about the same time as i did and they recovered better.... OFFICE JOBS..
....any ways, hang in there and enjoy the percocett.
..oh yeah..can i borrow your paddle since you aren't using it
