new boat model?

Post by patterbear »

So I didn't get up the to the Hudson Gorge like I planned  ...spent yesterday herding a noob butt boater down the Hiwassee, and the place was CRAWLING with cboats (yes, I know it's just the expletive-deleted Hiwassee, but it was good to see people representin'). ANYWAY...there were three or so people paddling a boat by Composite Creations called the "Bulldog" that I'd never seen before-angular design and tank floatation a la the Splash. They looked interesting - anyone tried/own one and can give a report?
So, you go rafting with that thing? Uh...yeah.

Fun Boat !

Post by Open Gate »

Yes,

Tried it a few years ago on a class III-IV run.

Fun boat, I would recommend it.

Stability good, Speed reasonnable, dry enough. Surfs OK. Fun river running boat. No bags so drop in the water and GO ! You can get it with access hatches to store gear in the caissons.Makes a funky ''Boink'' noise when hit waves due to hollow caisons
You're actually paddling a plane float ski with a canoe shape. You can imagine the strenght of the boat...and what it is made to resist as far as impacts !!!

Andy(designer at composite creations) did mention he modified the version I paddled following a few constructive comments I made on the earlier version which would improve dryness and playability.

Give Andy a buz http://www.compositecreations.ca/ super nice guy I'm sure he'll find one for you to try out.

Enjoy !
