what kind of outfitting do I have?

Post by zeke »

just got an Outrage which has saddle and thigh straps, knee pads but no foot pegs. The saddle is adjustable (front to back). It attaches to the floor of the canoe with webbing that runs through a webbing like lattice that is attached to the bottom of the boat. The webbing and flotation say Harmony. Is this Mad River factory outfitting or what? :-?

It sounds like Northwaters adjustable saddle to me. Probably the same on the thigh straps but maybe not. That would be my first place to start.

I don't think this is factory outfitting but may be the original outfitting. You can buy a boat without outfitting and do that yourself as you almpst always have to tweak the outfitting anyway.

If the outrage is kinda new it is the mad river factory outfitting. I bought a new Outrage a year ago and it was outfitted with the adjustable pedestal. I hated it, removed it and re-outfitted the boat from scratch. The adjustable pedestal just never seemed firmly attached no matter how tight the straps.

Yes, mine came with some plastic factory footbraces that I also did not use. They are similar to yakima type but plastic. I think I have all the hardware still if you want them you can have them they should match up with the factory pedestal.

outfitting

Post by billcanoes »

your outfitting is northwater red webbing on a 13" or 26" anchorstrip - the adjustable saddle does not have foot pegs- you may be able to find some plastic harmony footpegs or Mohawk used to sell foot pegs too- OR you could run (using a 13/16 or 15/16" drill bit" for a 1" dowel through the saddle to hold you feet down if you dont mind keeping your feet flat

Mad River did have northwater outfitting in their demo outrage x- with PADZ foot/ankle support
