Has anyone converted a Dagger Genesis to an OC2 out there? How does she paddle? I'd be looking at a total paddler weight of about 300-315 lbs. thanks

I know a couple who have one, and they have taken it down the middle channel of the Ottawa in low water. I also rememember having seen a few on the Gull during slalom races.
I guess with a light weight team, it would be good up to at least class 2-3 watrer, as long as its more technical stuff.

I know there are several variables but more than anything else, length determines weight capacity. With so many 240 pounders out there paddling 11' boats with no problems, I can't imagine that 300 lbs. in a 13 and a half foot boat would be a problem.
The Blast is 13 ft. and designed to be a tandem for lightweights. I would think that the Genesis would carry the weight easier than a Blast.
Just my .01 cent worth (bad economy ya know)

I know the Genesis is a big boat, but I think the cross section would matter as much (more than?) as the volume alone in determining how it will handle as a tandem. But like Phil says, there is one easy way to find out...

Genesis OC2
Thanks for all the feedback on the Genesis tandem prospects, everyone. We will try floating in it in the Deschutes here and see how she floats. At the very least, I'll have a decent beginner boat for my friends or a bigger water boat for myself. -Jay
