Back-band vs Foam seat back
I've noticed that some of the outfitting posts have formed seat backs and some have 'yak' style back bands. What's the advantage of one over the other? I'm outfitting a H:3, I'm going to try the fence-rail conversion (allthough it has a Dagger pedistal in it now, I'd just like to have fun trying to outfit it myself ). Also is there any "recomended" height for a foam seat back or is it a matter of preference and comfort?
Hi,
I am prone to have foam seat backs and converted all my boats
accordingly. Out of curiosity, I tried once both types of backs on my Session+ with a short interval and did not like how'yak' IR band worked at all. I mean, it served it's purpose, but it just was not comfortable, so I removed it and forgot about it. The only 'pro' was that i could easily adjust it (using those 'yak' ratchets), thus, moving myself forward or backward. To do it with foam seat you'll have to cut and glue
My foam back rest is about 11cm height. But I beleive it really depends on one's anthropometry, peference etc
Cheers,
Kirill
