GAF

Anyone going to GAF- nanty fest?

I plan to be there Fri - Sun. Either camping at NOC or lost mine.

With all the rain, there are bound to be some options in the area.

Thought about it but when I called Lost Mine (3 weeks ago?) they were booked. I was going to bring the kids with me and didn't want to be further than walking distance from the festivities.

I was thinking about it, but changed plans to go North... I've camped at the Natahala-Wesser Campground before and usually had the place nearly to myself, even on weekends... http://www.greatsmokies.com/nantahalawesser/ Not sure if its first-come first served though, I've never tried to book it in advance.

I'll be there. I'm in a huge old school red Mohawk, I paddle with a double blade, impossible to miss.

I'll be there with some GCA/AWC and other Georgia paddlers. Saturday or Sunday after Lesser Wesser, we are going to run it in pool toys, bring your camera.

Can y'all tell me if GAF really is a good chance to test paddle different boats?

Had a great time at GAF, in spite of, because of, lots of rain. Sunday the Upper Natty above the normal put in was running, so we watched some people run the Cascades, and then ran the Upper, what a blast! Makes the regular run seem boring! Some tight squeezes in my canoe, though.
