C1 Play Boats?

Post by wayne »

I am thinking about getting another play boat as my amp is too long and always hits the bottom. I am thinking about 3 different ones and am woundering if people have paddled them and what they think of them. The one I think would the best is a Prijon Release? also I am thinking about a Liquid Logic Space Cadet or Airhead. The last boat I am thinking about is a Bliss Stick Rad, I don't know what size would be best.
I have seen them all as kayak and wounder what they would be like as a C1. Does any one have any idears on any of them or any other boat that I should look at. I am 80kgs and want is for park and play more than river running as I have the Amp for river running.
Any advice would be great, Thanks Wayne.

Go fer the 185 RAD. It's a pretty wicked boat, although the new Necky's are pretty sick as well. Not sure if you'd fit them though. The RAD is sick thoguh, and really fast on a wave. Definatly give it a thought if nothing else. Take care,

the rad looks sweet, i think it would be a nice c-1. i have been paddling a t-2 lately and really like it. its got a super wide bottom, and makes for a really solid c-1. the LL are cool looking boats, but i have heard mixed reviews on them as c-boats. i have a pop that is really fun, but its hard to trow down. on the other hand i can get air like nothing else when im in it. the t-2 is the exact opposite, i can trow really easy, but it doesnt get the big air when im in big features. you might want to give it a look. also check out the necky boats. they look like really great c-1s. many people have been raving about them. peace---- joey

There's my take on your choices.
Prijon Release: Is what around 6'6 in length? It's more of a all-round boat, it's get enough hull speed and leght to run rivers, but still pull of the latest tricks. Kinda like the Wavesport EZ series.

Liquid Logic Space Cadet or Airhead: These bopats go HUGE! Simple ollie's and bam your in the air. Huge loops, and everything, a better wave boat than a hole boat, but really awesome. and great platsic/compnay service.

Bliss Stick Rad: Don;t know to much about, i have just seen joey paddle it on the ottawa, but looks super promising....as a great all round play boat.

All in all the rad and LL boats will be better park and players. There a lot of sweet boats out there. The new LL Bigwheel looks good (faster space cadet), and the Dagger Kingpin is a sweet boat (i have one) not overly impressed with the plastic boat the design rocks.

if you have the chance, paddle them. Even as kayaks.

space cadet is super super fun, but best on easy to access or catch features, the bigger the better! Slow as anything to get around, but on a big fast wave or in a hole, it is awesome.

I have just looked at the Necky web site the boats have a odd hull to say the least. The sound to me more like a wave boat that has pop? They also seem a bit to long as I am mostly after a hole play boat. I am now trying to deside between the LL Space Cadet and the Bliss-stick Rad.
Thanks for all your help.

kingpin is a better hole boat than a space cadet. Space cadet is a amazing wave boat, in a hole huge loops, but the ends arn;t as smooth and balanced as the kingpin. I can't compare the rad, as i have never paddled it.

also, the new LL Bigwheel, look sweet! it appraintly way faster then the space cadet, and it ends are balanced way better making it a smother carthwheeler in a hole looks very promising.
